Dilophosaurus Height

Popular movies portray the Dilophosaurus as cute dinosaurs, but they were one of the fiercest predators of the Jurassic period. The Dilophosaurus skeleton had a unique bone structure made up of air pockets in a honeycomb structure. This allowed them to grow larger than other dinosaurs that came before.

In fact, the Dilophosaurus was North America’s largest carnivorous dinosaur at the time. They weighed about 1,500 pounds and measured 20 feet long.

What Was The Dilophosaurus Diet?

Dilophosaurus were biiiiiig meat eaters. Seriously, you wouldn’t want to share a meal with one of these chompers! Because they had sharp claws and strong arms, they could grab onto their pray and hold tight while they feasted with razor-sharp teeth.

Because of their light bone structure and slight build, the Dilophosaurus could move very fast and was likely a hunter rather than a scavenger. They were an apex predator during the early Jurassic period, which was about 195 million years ago.
